Dr. Linda Hoopes-President

Dr. Linda HoopesI am an industrial/organizational psychologist by training. After spending several years in the academic world, I joined ODR, now Conner Partners, and worked with Daryl Conner, ODR’s founder, to develop the resilience concepts and tools. I co-authored Managing Change with Personal Resilience to make the resilience ideas available to a broader audience. In 2007 I formed an independent practice and now offer the resilience material under license from Conner Partners.

In addition to my focus on resilience, I work with various clients to help them develop assessment tools, training, and other materials. I’m licensed as a massage therapist (although I don’t have as much time to practice as I’d like!) and am a sailor, a traveler, and a Red Cross volunteer.

I have worked as an administrator and counselor for drug abuse programs for young people for the past 12 years.  Due to my background in counseling, and my experience working with families as they acknowledge and overcome addiction, I was intrigued by Linda’s work with resilience.  I am honored to be Linda’s assistant, and to learn more about resilience through working with her and applying the concepts in my own life.  I am also an independent Personal Empowerment Coach, helping people to find their life purpose and actively pursue their dreams.

In my personal life, I continue to work with young people who struggle with addiction, and participate in various other social groups locally. I write articles and blog for a local cabin rental company, and I enjoy yoga and exercise, cooking, and continued focus on my own personal growth and happiness.

My first contact with Linda and the resilience concepts took place while working at Conner Partners as a Sr. Accountant, assisting the CFO in running the finance department. I worked with Linda and Heather leading the invoicing, credit and collection functions within the Personal Resilience sector, and later took over managing the Training sector. I am excited to join Linda and Heather at Resilience Alliance to continue to improve and grow the concepts and tools for Resilience and the business.

Besides Resilience Alliance, I am happy to announce that I have my own business which includes full-charge bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, plus the acquisition of business financing, and the creation of small business corporations. Most importantly, I help business owners minimize their taxes, optimize their cash flow, and maximize their profits. I also enjoy teaching and making origami products.

Dr. Donna Landau Sylvan

I am an organizational psychologist who collaborates with business leaders to create high performing organizations.  I have in-depth experience in organizational effectiveness, leadership development, coaching, and change management. During my 20 years as a consultant and human resources manager, I have worked with clients in a variety of sectors including utility, health care, retail, insurance, government, engineering, manufacturing, professional services, and education.  I have used the resilience concepts in my coaching and consulting.  I believe the Resilience Alliance tools and materials can be used to enhance the health and productivity of individuals, teams, and organizations.

Dr. Dianne Leader

Always fascinated by people, and especially in how people work together with systems, I found my natural home in the field of industrial and organizational psychology, receiving my Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where I also met Linda Hoopes.  My last fifteen years have been spent teaching psychology at a large university, and consulting with diverse organizations on the people-and-systems aspects of their business.

It’s my great pleasure to join Linda, the Alliance, and our innovative clients in developing, promoting and inspiring the personal and organizational resilience needed to thrive in our ever-changing world.

Other joys in my life are family, friends, photography, travel and reading (especially biographies, of course).

Dr. Joy E. McCarthy

I am a business psychologist with over twenty years of consulting experience.  My areas of expertise include leadership and team development, change  execution, performance enhancement and organizational innovation.  I have extensive experience in utilizing diagnostics as bases for leadership and team coaching, and organizational redesign and development.  Because of a firm belief in the necessity of a more disciplined approach to change execution, I joined Conner Partners where I met Linda Hoopes and learned about the importance of resilience in adapting to change.  I use my assessment, coaching, and training strengths to help executives, managers, and employees understand their Personal Resilience Profiles and develop the characteristics of resilience.
